crash software package provides kernel debugging utility, allowing gdb like syntax, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install crash
crash is installed in your system.
Make ensure the crash package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep crash *
You will get with crash package name, version, architecture and description in a table
